HTML Emails for ProductCart

Promote your brand and enhance your company image by richly formatting your email communications with your customers!

With this add-on, you can HTML format every email your ProductCart store sends out, while richly formating the following core emails:

• Tell a Friend emails
• New Customer Registration emails
• Order Received emails
• Order Confirmed mails
• Gift Certificates Recipient Emails

Promote your brand – including your logo, social media icons, core navigations links – whatever you like – to enhance your brand recognition and online presence through your email communications.

Templates are provided for each of the above core email communications, including a wide variety of replacement variables you can use to insert live data exactly where you want it to show on your template. All other emails sent out by your ProductCart store will use the normal “simple text” content generated, though you will be able to style some of the look of that content (font elements, backgrounds, borders, ect.)

What's more, you can either edit these templates through your store control panel or directly through you favorite editor.

This add-on is built intelligently and lightly upon existing ProductCart functionality. It is smart enough, for example, to know if you might be sending out an email through ProductCart's Newsletter Wizard or maybe a 3rd party add-on that is itself already set up to deliver HTML formatted emails. It's light enough that it's easy to install and maintain agaist future ProdcutCart service packs & version upgrades. It will dynamically detect HTML links in the simple text emails ProductCart sends out (e.g. “forgot password”). It can also be turned on/off at two levels (in the event of any problem):

• Turn the whole thing OFF and process everything as ProductCart does normally
• Turn the HTML formatting OFF on the five core email communications, but still wrap emails with the basic wrapper template

Finally, the control panel tools also provide the option for you to send test emails with your HTML formatting so you can make sure you have everything looking good before you activate either the wrapper or the more advanced templated emails.

This add-on has been thoroughly tested against Standard + Apparel add-on stores versions 4.1 and 4.5. It should probably be equally viable on version 4.0 as well. BTO versions have not been tested yet. Earlier versions are not supported.

Other system requirements are standard ProductCart system requirements for sending out email.

This modification will be overwritten by any version updates from Early Impact. However, we have made it very simple to re-customize in such an event. Web Merchant Services makes every effort to isolate the core code of its add-ons and mods from being overwritten by Early Impact updates. We try to keep the time to reinstall to ~ 10 minutes or less, making it really simple to do again if necessary.

Costs may be associated with updates to add-ons we've released on prior versions of ProductCart.

Frankly, the changes to the ProductCart code can sometimes significantly change the code our add-on interacts with. Other times, our add-on is sufficiently “stand-alone” such that little if any adjustments are needed.
